Ordinarily, Dunlora is a beautiful planned residential community of private homes located in Charlottesville,VA. There are 377 plots in Dunlora of which 371 have homes built. Most are quiet cul-de-sacs with homes of similar size and style. Dunlora common areas and amenities include a swimming pool, toddler pool, play yard, clubhouse, exercise room, two lighted tennis courts, extensive trail system, garden plots and a playing field. Dunlora is conveniently located off Rio Road East, just minutes from downtown Charlottesville, University of Virginia and the Charlottesville / Albemarle Airport. |

However, on December 18th and 19th, we had record-breaking snows over 21 inches! Thanks to the fury of Mother Nature, this is what Dunloral looked like once the snows finally stopped. |
|

Despite the heavy snows and warnings to stay inside, there were some who just had to get out and see for themselves what was causing all the fuss was about in the first place. Most people, though, just "took the day off" to spend time indoors where it was warm and cozy.. |
|
Finally! The snows of the historic storm of December, 2009 are history. Neverheless, even though Winter is far from over, it won't be long before it is Spring and once again Dunlora will explode with color. Or so we thought.

It seems as if January, 2010 is going to be going down in history. It just doesn't want to end! On Sunday night, January 24, we were once again hit hard by Mother Nature but this time it was rain! Over 2.35 inches of it fell during the night. Despite how the lake looks at the moment, we know that once Mother Nature settles down, the grass will come back greener and the lake will once more be the beautiful lake that we love.
